The new Bloch is moving with the times and has opted for new distribution methods.

It’s a food truck. Quite cool? Absolutely, and we would also like to introduce the younger generation to a piece of Ghent history.

Any more advantages? Delicious products in the neighbourhood, traditional recipes, personal contact.

Time has flown by for Bloch Bakery in the Veldstraat. Good for the annals, fodder for nostalgics.

A new bakery in Ghent? It may seem like a good idea, but to be honest: times have changed. A new Bloch bakery would never quite be the same thing.

And so we are focusing on the products themselves. We are respecting the traditional recipes and high quality of the past.

Baker Stefan Elias baked for more than 18 years in the Veldstraat and now he guards the traditional recipes and preparations. 

Bloch’s delicious pastries and bread has stolen the hearts of two generations. Time for a third generation? Food trucks are of course a great way to reach young people.

So where are you likely to come across our food truck? We are going to ply our wares in the squares of Ghent first, because that’s where we have our roots. 

Do you live in another big city in Belgium? Be patient, we’re heading your way too. 

What happened to the days of friendly chat in the bakery or the tearoom?

True, we do chat with one another sometimes on social media, but personal contact is even better.

You’ll find people of flesh and blood in our food truck, people with a passion for our products. Ideas for the Bloch product range? Feel like reminiscing? Feel free to ask a question or just have a chat about your day.

For many people, Bloch was more than simply a bakery: it was a meeting place.

We’d very much like to honour and revive that tradition with our food truck.

Customers from all over Flanders and Brussels flocked to the legendary bakery in the Veldstraat.

We want to give our clients the opportunity to once again enjoy our authentic products.

And this time without having to move and put up with traffic jams. So we’re making plans for a new bakery.
